At the beginning of October, I noted that the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt had just switched places at the top of the monthly US plug-in car sales for the 5th month this year. They were swapping places every month for a while. However, October sales kept the Chevy Volt at #1 for the second month in a row. Now, news is that the cars have swapped out the #1 plug-in car sales title yet again.

In November, 2,003 Nissan Leafs were sold in the US (interestingly, just 1 more than the 2,002 sold in October), while 1,920 Chevy Volts were sold (compared to the 2,022 sold in October).

Naturally, with costs down and plug-in car sales skyrocketing, there were many more Nissan Leafs and Chevy Volts sold in November 2013 compared to November 2012.

Here are the 2012 vs. 2013 stats for each model:

Nissan Leaf
  • November 2013 — 2003
  • November 2012 — 1539
Chevy Volt
  • November 2013 — 1920
  • November 2012 — 1519
